Modeling and surface detail
Section titled “Modeling and surface detail”Basic shapes expose dimensions and segment detail. Custom profiles support bounded Bezier extrude and lathe generation. Depending on the object, mirror, inset, bevel, subdivision, symmetry, and sculpt-history controls are available.
Materials and textures
Section titled “Materials and textures”Choose a finish, adjust color and physical surface response, or load an image texture from your device. Texture files are local to the scene and are not uploaded to a server.
Characters
Section titled “Characters”Choose Smooth human for connected anatomy and pose controls, or Classic stylized for 24 editable parts. Set name, body style, starting pose, proportions, hair, and colors.
Components
Section titled “Components”Linked instances share geometry and appearance while keeping independent transforms. Use Linked copy to add an instance. Use Detach when it should stop receiving shared edits.
Animation
Section titled “Animation”Open Animate with an object or group selected. Set timeline length from 1–30 seconds, move the playhead, and use Keyframe to capture position, rotation, and scale. Play, pause, scrub, enable Loop, choose Linear/Ease in/Ease out/Ease in-out, or delete the current keyframe.
Events, actions, and variables
Section titled “Events, actions, and variables”Add variables with a name and value. Add interactions with a trigger, action, and target.
Triggers: Click, Hover, Timeline start, Timeline end.
Actions: Play animation, Set visibility, Move object, and supported variable updates.
Interactions run locally and persist in editable files; they do not make GLB exports interactive.
Import and export
Section titled “Import and export”Import a self-contained GLB through the import control or by dropping it into the viewport. Authored textures, physical materials, alpha behavior, and supported extensions are retained as faithfully as the browser renderer allows.
- Editable scene: preserves supported Idam3D project data.
- 3D model: exports visible geometry and supported materials as static GLB.
- Preview image: captures the current camera view as PNG.
Browser limits
Section titled “Browser limits”Use a current desktop browser with WebGL and hardware acceleration. Rendering quality depends on GPU memory. There is currently no cloud collaboration, account system, server-side storage, physics, or animated GLB export.
